James Fitzgerald joined CloudWave in 2011. A well-known technology strategist and frequent writer and speaker within the MEDITECH, MUSE, and HIMSS communities, Jim is passionate about helping healthcare organizations of all sizes and types implement sustainable technology strategies that enhance the performance and availability of MEDITECH and other enterprise software whether in a hospital data center or in the cloud.

Jim's experience with MEDITECH began in 1983 at Microcom, Inc. More significant technology contributions to the MEDITECH community spanned 4 executive roles and 18 years from 1993 to 2011 at JJWild, which would become the MEDITECH Solutions Group within Perot Systems in 2007 and within Dell, Inc. in 2009. During this period, Jim was the co-architect and business lead behind "first-of-their-kind" technology solutions including JJWild's PrivateNet, JJWild's JSite Disaster Recovery Service, and Perot Systems' MSite MEDITECH Hosting Service. Jim also contributed significantly to efforts to drive the MEDITECH community to open IP-based networks in the 1990's, to develop standardized disaster recovery strategies around MEDITECH and BridgeHead's ISB/IDR technologies in the 2000's, and to introduce data center virtualization as a standardized deployment strategy for MEDITECH technology platforms beginning in 2007. At Dell, Jim mentored a team that developed a MEDITECH-centric version of Dell's Mobile Clinical Computing (MCC) solution and was a constant advocate for driving technology solutions to the cloud.

Jim holds a BA from Bates College and an MBA with high distinction from Babson College, where he was the 1992 winner of the Douglass Foundation Prize for Entrepreneurship. Jim resides in Massachusetts with his wife and children and enjoys music and virtually any activity related to the ocean.
